Bankruptcy Court Fee Schedule

The fees listed below are effective December 1, 2023.

At its March and September 2023 sessions, the Judicial Conference of the United States approved inflationary adjustments to certain filing fees on the Bankruptcy Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule to take effect on December 1, 2023.  See Public Notice 23-2 for details about the changes.

In accordance with Local Bankruptcy Rule 5081-1, personal checks or credit cards of a debtor shall not be accepted.

New Petition Fees

New petition filing fees in chapter 7 cases may be waived, if approved by a Judge. Check, money order, cash or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club) may be used to pay the fee. Personal checks or credit cards of debtors are not accepted.

Case Reopening Fee

The fee is collected upon the filing of the Motion. Exemptions include (1) reopening a case to permit a party to file a complaint to obtain a determination under Rule 4007(b); (2) reopening a case when a creditor is violating the terms of the discharge under 11 U.S.C. §524; or (3) reopening a case to redact a record already filed in a case, if redaction is the only reason for reopening. The fee is required if the reopening is to amend schedules.
