The National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges is accepting applications for its Honorable Cornelius Blackshear Presidential Fellowship for minority lawyers who practice bankruptcy law. Named after esteemed Bankruptcy Judge Blackshear, now retired from the Southern District of New York, the fellowship program provides both waived conference registration and a stipend for reasonable travel/hotel expenses for five up-and-coming minority bankruptcy practitioners (with five to ten years of experience) who wish to attend the annual meeting of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges and who otherwise meets the selection criteria. The submission period for applications is May 30, 2017 to July 17, 2017. The deadline for submitting applications is July 17, 2015 at 5 pm ET. The application and supporting documents must be sent via e-mail to: Kathy_Surratt-States@moeb.uscourts.gov.
